1: Exploring Stereotypes
Exploring Stereotypes examines the process of
stereotyping, its consequences and possible solutions.
Students first examine how stereotypes affect
their lives and school environment. Then they
examine one family that lived at the time of the
Holocaust (Anne Frank's family). |

MODULE
2: Scapegoating
In Scapegoating, students learn about scapegoating
by playing government and journalistic roles in
a fictional society. Then, they will focus on
the historical scapegoating that took place against
three groups: Jews, Roma (Gypsies) and Women (accused
of being witches). |

MODULE
3: The Roles People Play
In this module, The Roles People Play, the focus
is on bystanders, perpetrators, victims and helpers.
Two incidents, and the dilemmas associated with
them, serve as the starting point for student
discussion and research. |

MODULE
4: Rights and Responsibilities
Rights and Responsibilities focuses on our differences
and similarities, and how perceived differences
can lead to various forms of injustice. Much attention
is devoted to student's rights and responsibilities
when confronting injustice. |

5: The Nazi Persecution Policies
Who were the victims of the Nazis? The Nazi Persecution
Policies looks at the different groups that were
victimized by the Nazis. Students also research
whether these groups are protected today. |

6: Becoming a Refugee
The module Becoming a Refugee adopts an active
listening and debate format to explore the issues
affecting refugees, past and present. |

MODULE
7: The United States and the Holocaust
In this module, The United States and the Holocaust,
the focus is on the role that the United States
played in the events leading up to the Holocaust
and the Holocaust itself. They will research what
is myth and what is reality. |

MODULE
8: Exploring a Recent Conflict
In Exploring a Recent Conflict students will explore
events in the former Yugoslavia. They will learn
about the region's past, the conflict, and attempts
by the world community to establish peace. Students
will learn about daily developments at the International
War Crimes Tribunal and have direct contact with
various people attempting to create peace in this
country by going online. |

MODULE
9: Youth Matters
Youth Matters looks at the role that youth have
played in promoting, combating or ignoring the
exclusion and prejudice that affects themselves
and others around them. Students explore the role
of youth during the Holocaust and current issues
of excision and violence in their school, community
and society. |

MODULE
10: Students Organize!
Students Organize! is closely connected to the
CHEF exhibition, entitled: Choices. The exhibition,
designed for classroom use by students and teachers,
is intended to be a student initiated activity.
The module shows students how they can organize
the exhibition in their school, with assistance
from teachers. |
